Abstract
A new type of Artemia hatcher is described. It is made from a 180 1 plastic water butt fitted with a 500 W heater and an aerator. The hatcher gives hatches of 8 million nauplii at a pH of 8·2 and temperature of 26°C. After a settlement period of 75 min separation of the nauplii from the egg shells is achieved by siphoning. Keywords
