Spin Assignment for theF181.131-MeV Level

Recent $\gamma$-ray angular-distribution results obtained by Poletti and Fossan using the differential-time-delay technique in the ${\mathrm{O}}^{16}({\mathrm{He}}^3,p\gamma ){\mathrm{F}}^{18}$ reaction are analyzed to show that the ${\mathrm{F}}^{18}$ 1.131-MeV level has $J=5\mathrm{}$. Other evidence fixes its parity as even.
