Abstract
The soluble lens proteins of the smooth dogfish (Mustelus canis) have been fractionated by gel filtration and partially characterized. A pattern of α-, β-, and low molecular weight crystallins similar to that of mammalian lens was found. Interestingly, only the dogfish β-crystallin fractions were found to cross-react with antiserum prepared against calf lens proteins. Keywords
