Abstract
17 strains of fixed rabies virus were investigated with respect to their immunogenic properties as virulent vaccines in 21-day-old Swiss mice. Immunity was tested by intracerebral injn. of homologous virus. The results indicated that wide differences occur in the immunity response of the mice depending upon the strain of virus employed. 4 substrains of the Pasteur virus obtained from Paris since 1938 appear to possess intrinsic immunizing properties superior to the other strains tested. The immunological and practical significance of the results is discussed. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
