A Study of the Dyeing of Wool from Long Liquors in the Cold

Abstract
The influence of disaggregation of dyes on their penetration into wool in the cold has been studied. Urea acts as an efficient disaggregating agent. The failure of urea to increase the rate of dyeing in the cold of a high‐molecular‐weight dye has been explained. Dyeing in the cold with such dyes can be achieved if the wool is pre‐swollen.
