Abstract
The metallographers' problem in the context of interfaces is to relate the crystallographic variables to structure. This can be done at high resolution and magnification using principally transmission electron microscopy. Interfacial dislocations conserve the order at boundaries and their behaviour may be the mechanism underlying the properties governed by grain boundary processes
