Abstract
During resorption of bile acids from the intestines the cholic acid content in the portal blood of cats and rabbits was always more increased than in heart blood. This difference was still greater in animals with exptl. occlusion-jaundice. In cows and horse during simultaneous resorption of cholic and fatty acids the lymph on the contrary was quite free from cholic acids. The cholic acids were detd. with the method of Josephson (1935). The results show that the choleic acids are decomposed immediately after resorption through the mucous membrane. The bile acids follow the blood in the portal vein, not as the fatty acids follow the chyle through the lymph vessels. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
