Abstract
A case of intraoperative pneumothorax preceded by a pulmonary embolus is presented. A high index of suspicion led to further investigation, after resolution of the pneumothorax was not accompanied by clinical improvement. The literature is reviewed, and the various methods of prophylaxis and treatment discussed. Keywords
