Abstract
Pseudoxanthoma Elasticum, Angioid Streaks of Retina, and Osteitis Deformans. Presented by Dr. C. W. Woodcock. C. H., a white man, aged 54, was admitted to the Dental Service at Crile Veterans Administration Hospital on Nov. 14, 1950, with severe pain and swelling in the mandible. The past history revealed that the diagnosis of Paget's disease had been made in 1932. From May to October, 1948, the patient had been hospitalized for a compound fracture of the upper third of the left femur. Renal calculi were discovered on that admission. Physical examination on this admission revealed a white man with extreme kyphosis and marked enlargement of the head. Angioid streaks were noted in both retinae. There was diminished auditory acuity bilaterally. Swelling of the left lower jaw and a draining sinus in the left lower gum were noted. The chest was emphysematous, with marked dorsal kyphosis.
