Abstract
A tumor is described, clinically labelled as telangiectatic granuloma, in a 4 year old girl. The histological diagnosis was of a juvenile melanoma. The cytological investigation showed that all smears were composed of cells morphologically identical to the endothelial cells. Because of the disagreement between the results of the histology and those of the cytology, an investigation was made to compare the habitual aspects of smears of angiomas, telangiectatic granulomas, granulation tissues, nevi and nevocarcinomas. This investigation showed the similarity between the cells found in the case reported and those of the tumors and tissues in which the endothelial cells predominated and also the differences with the nevoidal cells. The histological study of the biopsy in the case reported showed some facts that would support the vascular origin of this tumor. Keywords
