Abstract
Facilitated ion transfer by N,N-dicyclohexyl-N′,N′-diisobutyl-cis-cyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxamide (ETH1810) across the water/1,2-dichloroethane interface has been investigated by cyclic voltammetry. The pH of the aqueous phase determines the nature and the type of facilitated ion transfer, i.e. facilitated proton transfer, facilitated metal-ion transfer or a mixture of both. The theory recently developed by Matsuda et al. is applied to estimate the complexation constants of the complexed ions ETH1810–H+ and ETH1810–Li+ in the 1,2-dichloroethane phase from the voltammetric data. Keywords
