Abstract
Proton-induced x-ray studies of selected monazite grains show no evidence for primordial superheavy elements. It is demonstrated that the recently reported evidence for superheavy elements in monazite inclusions in biotite mica showing giant halo formation is due to a misinterpretation of the observed x-ray spectra. Keywords
