Abstract
The paper seeks to clarify the pedagogy of critical religious education by defending three complementary theses: the search for knowledge requires a rigorous academic study of religion; the search for wisdom demands the personal engagement of the learner in such academic study; the search for truth constitutes the key driver that draws knowledge and wisdom into a unity. Keywords
