Abstract
Such conditions as poor mineral nutrition, low temp. and high light intensity lower the growth hormone content in tomato and young corn plants. Corn seedlings devoid of chlorophyll, either due to etiolation or genetic factors, have a higher hormone content than green seedlings. The first flower bud in a cluster of tomato has a higher hormone conc. than the 2d bud and the 3d and 4th, less than the first mentioned. As a part of a plant or the plant as a whole ages its growth hormone content decreases. Parts of stems of Helianthus annuus and Impatiens balsamea parasitized by Cuscuta polygonorum have a higher hormone content than parts not parasitized.
