Abstract
Pharmacokinetic Considerations of Local-Anesthetic AgentsLocal-anesthetic activity and the potential toxicity of these agents are influenced by factors such as systemic absorption from site of injection, distribution, metabolism and excretion. In recent years, much information has been forthcoming concerning these various aspects, in large part owing to the development of specific and sensitive analytical methods (e.g., gas chromatography) for measuring the concentration of local-anesthetic agents in blood and tissues.AbsorptionThe various factors that influence the systemic absorption of local-anesthetic agents have been studied by several groups of investigators.67 68 69 70 In a comprehensive investigation, Braid and Scott determined the relation between . . .Keywords
