Abstract
Female unemployment in Australia is usually about double the male rate and is the visible manifestion of one social problem facing a "minority group." The methods used to calculate unemployment statistics, however, underestimate the severity of the problem. The aim of this paper is to indicate the extent of "hidden unemployment", that is those who are unemployed, but not counted in the official statistics. Keywords
