Abstract
A number of ammonia-producing substances were tested for their attractiveness to the apple maggot, Rhago-letis pomonella. Among the results it was found that 1% glyeme in soln. of NaOH became more attractive to the flies as it became older. Addition of soap to all chemicals used increased the efficiency of traps to a marked degree. Household ammonia, (NH4)2SO4 and ammonium acetate in 1% solns. were all superior to fresh glycine. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
