Abstract
Development of Musca domestica L. was inhibited in the feces of cattle that consumed mineral blocks which contained 0.1 and 0.05% of the insect growth regulator Thompson-Hayward 6040 [N-(4-chlorophenyl)-N′-(2,6-difluorobenzoyl) urea]. The application of TH 6040 or a mixture of 21.4% stirofos and 5.3% dichlorvos (Ravap®) as area treatments to larval breeding sites at a swine feedlot (0.05 and 0.075% concn, respectively) and at a waste water treatment plant (0,05 and 0.15% concn, respectively) inhibited adult emergence throughout the fly breeding season. Keywords
