Abstract
Eine Schwangere erkrankte im vierten Graviditätsmonat mit Lymphknoten-Toxoplasmose; die Wahrscheinlichkeit, daß unter solchen Umständen auch die Frucht erkrankt, ist sehr groß. Die Schwangere wurde vom Ende des fünften Monats an zweimal während je vier Wochen mit einem Dreifach-Sulfonamid und Pyrimethamin beziehungsweise nur mit Sulfonamid behandelt. Das Kind kam zwar fünf Wochen vor dem Termin, jedoch ohne klinische oder serologische Zeichen einer angeborenen Toxoplasmose zur Welt und entwickelte sich in den ersten 16 Monaten seines Lebens normal. The case is reported of a woman who fell ill with toxoplasmosis of the lymph nodes during the fourth month of pregnancy. Because the chances of intra-uterine infection were very great in these circumstances, she was given two courses of 4 weeks each of triple sulphonamides (1 Gm. 4 × daily for 14 days, then 1 Gm. 3 × daily for another 14 days) and pyrimethamine (initial dose of 50 mg. followed by 25 mg. daily for 4 weeks). The child was born 5 weeks before the expected day of delivery, but there was no clinical or serological evidence of toxoplasmosis, and he has developed normally since (16 months). Various aspects of this case are discussed. La enferma fué tratada con una sulfonamida triple y Pirimetamina o sólo con sulfonamida, desde fines del quinto mes del embarazo y en dos turnos de cuatro semanas. El niño nació cinco semanas antes de su tiempo, pero sin síntomas clínicos ni serológicos de una toxoplas-dosis congénita, desarrollándose normalmente en los primeros 16 meses de su vida.
