Abstract
1. A case of interstitial gastric emphysema is reported. The condition arose spontaneously in a man with pyloric obstruction due to a gastric neoplasm. 2. The literature is reviewed and an account given of those conditions in which X-ray examination may reveal gas within the wall of the stomach: (1) emphysematous gastritis; (2) cystic pneumatosis; (3) interstitial gastric emphysema.
