Abstract
The author re-examines the expressions of the older embryologists and comparative anatomists, notably, Meckel, von Baer, Louis Agassiz, Fritz Muller, Haeckel, and O. Hertwig with respect to recapitulation. Distinction is made between generalization from observed facts and theories. The generalization is well Based.
