Production de O2(b1g+), &([a-z]+);′ = 0, 1 et 2 par la reaction O(21D2) + O2(X3g)

Abstract
The emissions of the 0–0 and 1–1 bands of the O2(b1g+→X3g transition have been observed at 762 and 771 nm respectively in the photolysis of O3/O2/Ar mixtures at 253.7 nm. From the dependence of these emissions on the concentration of oxygen for various ozone concentrations the following conclusions can be drawn: one-quarter to one-half of the O2(b1g+) molecules formed in the energy transfer from O(21D2) to O2(X3g) are in the vibrational state &([a-z]+);′ = 1, the remainder being in the &([a-z]+);′ = 0 state. Furthermore, it is shown that O3 deactivates O(21D2) eight times more effectively than O2. The relative rates of the reactions of O2(b1g+), &([a-z]+);′ = 1 with O2 and O3 are also discussed and approximate values of 0.6 and 1.0 are determined relative to the rate of the reaction of O2(b1g+), &([a-z]+);′ = 0 with O3.
