Abstract
Win 49375 had excellent activity against members of the family Enterobacteriaceae and staphylococcal species. Its activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa was equal to that of gentamicin. Win 49375 had moderate activity against clostridia but little against Bacteroides fragilis. The drug showed a marked inoculum effect at 10(8) CFU/ml and a slight decrease in potency at pH 5.Keywords
