Abstract
Two patients with primary cutaneous malignant melanomas are reported. Clinically, both lesions were pedunculated papules, considered by the attending physicians to be totally benign. One had already metastasized. The diagnoses were established only by histological examination. Malignant melanoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of pedunculated tumors clinically suspected of being nevi, fibromas, or seborrheic keratoses. When removed, all such lesions should be submitted for pathological examination. Keywords
