STABILIZATION OF FOAM FILMS OF NONIONIC DETERGENTS BY LIQUID CRYSTALS

Abstract
The stability and structure of foam films from nonionic detergents was investigated by visual observation of the life time of foam lamellae and by optical microscopy of the foam in polarized light. The results showed the stabilizing action of the liquid crystalline phases and their location within different parts of the foam.
