Abstract
A famous Japanese artist, Yoshihiko Yamamoto, who happened to be mentally retarded, is the example for a discussion of long range educational programs which respond to specific aptitudes of retarded children. The superior artistic/graphic skills of Yamamoto suggest that art superiority can be developed if the educator detects interest and aptitude, and encourages such skills in a long range educational plan. Keywords
