Abstract
A STATED meeting of the Council was called to order by the President, Dr. Arthur W. Allen, on Wednesday, October 5, 1949, at 10:30 a.m. in John Ware Hall, Boston Medical Library, 8 Fenway, Boston.Two hundred and forty-one councilors were present (Appendix No. 1).The Secretary, Dr. H. Quimby Gallupe, presented the minutes of the Council meeting of May 23, 1949, as printed in the New England Journal of Medicine, issue of July 21, 1949, and moved their acceptance.
