Abstract
A novel partially corrugated waveguide laser diode (PC-LD) for subcarrier multiplexing was proposed. High yield characteristics for low distortion specification (IMD3 ≤ –80 dBc) were demonstrated theoretically and experimentally. This is attributed to the electric field uniformity improvement along the cavity and the grating facet phase insensitivity in the PC-LD.Keywords
