Abstract
By rapid cooling from the melt, single-phase simple cubic structures (one atom/unit cell) have been obtained for alloys in the ranges, 15–40 at.% Au;Te and 20–30 at.% Ag;Te. Type measurements and resistivity estimates indicate that the simple cubic phases are metallic. Lattice spacings of the simple cubic phases have been determined for single-phase and multiphase alloys. The 37.5 at.% Au;Te alloy is relatively more stable than the other metastable phases, as shown by annealing experiments. Keywords
