Abstract
Descrs. are given of each stage in maturation of the germ cells. Interstitial tissue Was definitely present in the testes. Male paddlefish mature at smaller sizes than females, but both sexes probably reach maturity when between 39 and 55 in. total length. Since only a small portion of the commercial catches are sexually mature fish, increasing the legal length limits would almost eliminate the marketing of the paddlefish, and probably allow it to increase in numbers.
