Does Health Intervention Ameliorate the Effects of Poverty Related Diseases?--1. Experience in Rural South India

Abstract
In a community-based health programme in SouthIndia it was possible to demonstrate reduction in child mortality, especially so amongst the children of the disadvantaged. The various activities in primary health care when specifically targeted at the disadvantaged groups can help to cushion the adverse effects of poverty.
