Abstract
"The resulting shape of the contrast function was similar to those obtained in previous experiments; i.e., enhancement occurred for inducing-luminance values below the test-field luminance, depression occurred for inducing luminances greater than test luminance. With caffeine administration the enhancement phenomenon seemingly disappears. However, depression still occurs and there does not seem to be much difference between the drug and nondrug state with respect to depression."
