Abstract
Acute thyroiditis treated with thiouracil resulted in prompt relief of symptoms in two cases. Dosage used was 0.2 g. 3 times daily for one week; then the same dose twice daily for 2-4 weeks; and then 0.1 g. daily for 3 months. In both cases, treatment previously with penicillin was unsuccessful, while in one case both penicillin and sulfadiazine failed to relieve symptoms. Keywords
