Lossless transformation of coherent light into amplitude-squeezed light

Abstract
We show that the use of weakly probed three-level atoms in the Λ configuration as a nonlinear medium inside an optical cavity enables the almost lossless transformation of an incoming strong coherent light beam into an outgoing amplitude-squeezed light beam.Keywords
