Abstract
This article examines the major issues involved in serials cancellation: technological and economic change, subscription cost increases, the growing number of periodical and serial titles, the failure of library funding to meet outside "demands," and the need to strike a balance between continuations and books within library budgets. It also describes the processes involved and some conclusions drawn from three cancellation projects undertaken at California State University, Northridge over the last 12 yearsKeywords
