Abstract
The sterpurenes are a unique group of sesquiterpenes produced by the fungus Stereumpurpureum. Biosynthetic studies utilizing [1-13C] and [2-13C] acetate indicate that sterpuric acid (2) and sterpurene-3,12,14-triol (3) are formed from acetate via humulene (5) and the protoilludane cation (6) by one of the paths shown in Scheme 2.This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
