Abstract
Theoretical infrared (IR) absorption spectra have been computed for various models of trans- and cis-polyace-tylene, poly(p-phenylene) and poly(pyrrole). Surprisingly, some supposedly strong bands are missing in the observed IR absorption spectra.Keywords
