Abstract
COCAINE DEPENDENCE is an important public health problem in the United States.1 During the past decade, progress has been made in the area of psychological/behavioral treatments for individuals with cocaine dependence.2 The 2 approaches with the strongest empirical support are contingency management, based on the principles of operant conditioning,3 and cognitive-behavioral strategies, based on social learning principles.4-6
