Organotin sulfides

Abstract
"Interfacial" conditions were used for the preparation of organotin sulfides, tetraalkyl- or tetraaryl-dichlorodistanthianes, and similar compounds having a polysulfide linkage between two tin atoms. The compounds were prepared by reaction of sodium sulfide or sodium polysulfide in aqueous solution with various molar ratios of dialkyl- or diaryl-tin dichlorides dissolved in petroleum ether or methylene dichloride. The new compounds were found to be less stable than the corresponding distannoxanes.
