Abstract
The energies of the terms of the normal state of C I, , and of the excited state, , are calculated with one-electron functions for a self-consistent field. The effect of the interaction of and is also included. Tables are given of the radial integrals, of the absolute energies of the terms, and of the separations of the terms. is found 3.16 volts above the ground state .
