Abstract
a new type of optical oscillator, involving coupled waveguide lasers (CWL's) consisting ofNidentical single-mode active waveguides (N = 3,5) coupled with each other is proposed. Oscillation conditions of coupled waveguide lasers, such as threshold and effective length of waveguides, and output powers are examined theoretically, as compared with the conventional single-mode waveguide lasers.Keywords
