Band structure calculation of the momentum density and Compton profile of copper

Abstract
Using the modified augmented plane wave (MAPW) method the momentum densities of all occupied electronic states of Cu were evaluated, even at large values of the momentum. From this information in the one-particle scheme the Compton profile is determined for different directions of the transmitted momentum and compared with recent experimental results. As these considerations are free of any adjustable parameters the limit of the independent-particle model may be studied.Keywords
