Electrical resistivity of some liquid bismuth-based solutions

Abstract
Results on the measurement of the electrical resistivity of liquid Bi-based solutions containing S, Se, Te, As, Hg and Mg are reported. The resistivity change produced by 2 at. % of impurity is a linear function of the electronegativity of the solute except for As. The results arc compared with calculations based on the Faber-Ziman theory using various pseudopotentials; it is suggested that the solutes S and Se act as anions, while the other solutes of interest act as cations.
