Effect of Vacuum Annealing on the Superconducting Transition Temperature of La-Sr-Cu-O System

Abstract
Effect of vacuum annealing on the superconducting transition temperature T c of the ceramic superconductor La-Sr-Cu-O system with K2NiF4 type structure has been studied. For a constant annealing time, the resistivity-increase and the T c-decrease become larger for higher annealing temperatures. This may be qualitatively understood as the result of introduction of oxygen vacancies at their sites in the basal plane of CuO6 octahedra which are parallel to the (001) plane of the tetragonal cell.
