Abstract
We report the implementation of an optical fibre delay line demonstrating the capability of stretched silica fibre to induce a large and variable group delay. A metric delay line with a total stroke of 2.04 m has been tested in a Mach - Zehnder interferometer in the spectral domain. The induced waveguide losses are very low. At the present time the polarization and the dispersion effects are not corrected. Keywords
