Abstract
The parenteral adm. of a prepn. of lipocaic to fasting guinea pigs prevented the accumulation of liver fat produced by the inj. of ketogenic hormone or by fasting. The Houssay animal developed the fatty liver of lipocaic deficiency just as rapidly as the depancreatized dog and was equally responsive to lipocaic therapy. The antagonistic action of lipocaic and ant. pituitary extract suggests that under normal conditions the transport of fat between the body depots and the liver is regulated by opposing hormone influences. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
