Abstract
The drug-metabolizing UDP glucuronosyltransferases are encoded by genes which constitute a multigene family. One rat gene subfamily codes for at least four constitutive enzyme forms, including those which glucuronidate the androgenic steroids testosterone (UDPGT r -3)and androsterone (UDPGT r-4).In the present study, UDPGT r-3and UDPGT r-4cDNAs were used to demonstrate that an homologous subfamily is present in the mouse genome. Using mouse x Chinese hamster somatic cell hybrids, we mapped at least one gene of this UDP glucuronosyltransferase subfamily (UDPGT r-3)to mouse chromosome 5 and suggest the name as the Udpgt-3locus.This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
