Orbital Nodular Fasciitis

Abstract
THIS report describes an orbital tumor which proved to be an example of nodular fasciitis. The main interest stems from the fact that only recently has this entity been reported in connection with the eye, and further, although entirely benign and innocuous, it has histologic features that simulate malignancy. Report of a Case A 14-year-old boy of Puerto Rican ancestry was seen by one of us (J.M.L.). For more than three months he had noticed swelling in the right upper lid which slowly increased in size. He had no pain or other complaint. There was no history of ocular trauma or inflammation. He had a history of convergent strabismus of the left eye, which was corrected by glasses. The general medical history was not significant. The patient appeared to be healthy, of adult build, weighing 89.4 kg (197 lbs).
