Abstract
Air and surface samples were taken by sieve-type air samplers and cotton swabs, respectively, during and after operation of the lyophilizer. The lyophilizer becomes heavily contaminated during lyophilization. The operator''s hands become contaminated during removal of ampules from the apparatus. A simple cotton filter is described which prevents contamination of vacuum gauge and pump. Keywords
