Abstract
Summary: Lysis of E* requires at least three separate reactions. Evidence is presented that the first step in the sequence of reactions is a temperature-dependent activation that takes place in the presence of 0.09 M ethylenediaminetetracetate (EDTA). The activation is followed by two steps that are relatively temperature-independent. The first of these can be blocked by 0.09 M EDTA, and the second can be blocked by 25% bovine plasma albumin. Keywords
